Birthplace of Country Music Museum gets approved for funding
$600,000 -- That's how much money Bristol, Tennessee's City Council approved for the Birthplace of Country Music Downtown Museum.
That money will be given in installments during the next three years.
Leah Ross, the executive director of the BCM, says the money will be used to start the hiring process, as well as early marketing.
She tells News 5 they are trying to team up with bus tour companies and even the Country Music Hall of Fame. "We're looking at a lot of opportunities to team up with, even Bristol Motor Speedway, how can we cross promote each other," said Ross.
Construction is underway on the museum, which is slated to open in August 2014.
