Bristol Chamber of Commerce President to take temporary leave
The Bristol Chamber of Commerce has announced CEO Joy Madison will be taking time away from her duties at the Chamber for temporary disability. Madison has been battling breast cancer.
Vice President of Finance, Paula Hurt, will be the Acting President until Madison returns from her disability leave.
According to Chairman of the Board, Larry Shaver, “The Executive Committee understands Madison’s prognosis is excellent and we anticipate her return as soon as she is cleared by her physicians.”
Madison confirmed her temporary leave, “I am confident in the leadership of Paula and the entire team while I work on my recovery. Realistically, while undergoing chemotherapy, it is difficult for me to be in public; something that is required for me to do my job successfully.”
