Justin Grimm taking a break in Bristol
Texas Rangers rookie pitcher Justin Grimm is spending the all-star break in his hometown of Bristol.
The former Virginia High Bearcat and University of Georgia standout is home for the first time this season. He is reflecting on the first half of his rookie campaign in which he has gone 7-7 as a starter.
"There's been some good ones, then there's been some adversity," Grimm told News 5 WCYB.
"But it's how you battle. You have to just keep working hard."
Grimm says he might pitch out of the bullpen when the second half of the season gets underway.
"I know what I need to do to get things right. Whether that is coming out of the bullpen, I just want to help the team win any way I can."
In Grimm's last start against the Detroit Tigers, he left the game with soreness in his right forearm. He says it is not an issue.
"I'm treating it, taking a break. I'll have a bullpen session when I return. But I'm positive, it's been feeling a lot better."
