Movie to start filming in Southwest Virginia this fall
Southwest Virginia will be the backdrop for a movie this fall.
Best-selling author Adriana Trigiani is returning to her hometown of Big Stone Gap to shoot the film version of her novel by the same name that launched her career.
Governor Bob McDonnell Announced today that the town is eligible for film incentives up to 600-thousand dollars, based on the amount of money the production company spends in the commonwealth, and a 300-thousand dollar grant from Virginia's Tobacco Commission.
More facts for you, the film industry plays a significant role in the state's economy, in 2011, the total economic impact was nearly 395-million dollars, that's a 14 and-a-half percent increase over 2010.
