A fraternity in Ohio has been kicked off campus after a hazing incident cost one of its pledges a testicle.

Wilmington College told the Dayton Daily News it will never again recognize Gamma Phi Gamma as a campus organization.

The move is in response to a fraternity ceremony last fall.

Members of the fraternity, which bills itself as the oldest local fraternity in the nation, struck 19-year-old Tyler Lawrence with a "towel fashioned as a weapon," according to court records.

After complaining of significant pain, Lawrence was taken to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove one of his testicles.

According to police, about 20 fraternity members "were either watching or participating in the pledging."

Lawrence told Cincinnati TV station WLWT in November that it was a freak accident, and not hazing.
