SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. -

A proposal can now move forward to entice a company with local ties to expand their operations here and bring in new jobs.

The Sullivan County Commission unanimously approved selling Bell Helicopter 41 acres of land near their plant in the Tri-County Industrial Park in Piney Flats.

Commissioners also passed a resolution to apply for a state 'FastTrack' grant that would help pay for getting that site ready for construction.

"Our NETWORKS [Sullivan Partnership] and our mayor will take this proposal to Bell Helicopter, and then they'll make a decision on whether to come here or not. I believe that they will. I believe that they'll come here," said commissioner Dwight King, who is sponsoring these proposals.

If the company does choose to expand here, it could mean 125 jobs for our region.
