FOOD BANK BUILDING UPDATE
SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. -

The doors aren't open just yet, but an area food bank is working hard to finish repairs on their new building.

We're talking about Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee's new building at Exit 63 near the Tri-Cities Regional Airport.

We checked to see how improvements are coming along and officials tell us the goal is to be in the new building by the end of 2013.

Over the last few months crews have been repairing the roof and getting the warehouse ready to install equipment. "For the interior, right now we have prepared the floor for an installation of the freezer. Which is a really large project that is key to what we're doing because we get so much perishable food," said Kathy Smith with Second Harvest Food Bank.

Officials say the new building will have about five loading docks to help make deliveries and pick-ups more efficient.
