CROOKED ROAD
ABINGDON, Va. -

Its been a little noisier than normal this weekend in Southwest Virginia. That's because music from our region was highlighted in the first ever Crooked Road Festival.

A Gospel concert wrapped up the weekend long celebration of live concerts and dance performances.

You might be asking yourself, what exactly is the Crooked Road? Well, News 5 learned it's a winding road that stretches more than 300-miles across Southwest Virginia and maps out venues for music lovers.

"Birthplace of Country Music, Ralph Stanley's Museum, Country Cabin, the list goes on and on. These are places that have live music, they're also places where the history of music has been preserved in wonderful museums," said Jack Hinshelwood with The Crooked Road.

If you missed this weekend's festival, you can tour the Crooked Road whenever you'd like.
