Parking in Bristol won’t be changing anytime soon. We've learned Bristol, Virginia city leaders decided to delay the new parking garage.
Community and Economic Director Andrew Trivette tells News 5 they met with the city council about moving forward with the garage but says the council decided to take care of other projects in the city before starting a new one.
We're told there are alternate options to improve parking until the garage is built. "That included better management, better signage, better enforcement; that would generally increase our spaces that are in our downtown," said Trivette.
Trivette says the city paid around $30,000 for the parking study in Bristol, which showed adequate parking at this time; but he says if development continues at the current pace, more spaces will be needed in the future.
