JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -

The Tennessee Board of Regents approval of a football fee at ETSU directly affects the students.

Football fans or not, students would start paying a $125 fee every semester starting the next academic year.

We talked to students shortly after the TBR decision was made and found out the debate rages on.

"I'm really excited about it. I'm looking forward to going to the games, and I'm going to have a lot of spirit for it. It's going to get me excited about school," said Mike Widener, an ETSU sophomore.

"I disagree completely. I actually was a part of signing a petition against it, because I just don’t believe it will be beneficial to the school at all," said Damaris Brooks, an ETSU junior.

Student body opinion was represented by the Student Government Association.

The organization approved the fee back in January.
