HAMPTON, Tenn. -

Authorities in Carter County say they've discovered a major marijuana growing operation. View mugshot and photos from the scene

Sheriff Chris Mathes says they found the grow inside a home on Highway 321 around 3 p.m. Wednesday. Larry Alan Shockley of Morristown is now facing numerous charges.

Mathes estimates the operation could be worth as much as $60,000 a year.

Neighbors say they're shocked, but nearby resident Clara Kraft said it seems to be a problem that isn't going away anytime soon. "If they want the drugs, they're going to get them one way or another and get the money one way or another," she said. "It's kind of a lose-lose situation any way we go at it."
