Man faces involuntary manslaughter charges over July wreck

SMYTH COUNTY, Va. -

A man has been indicted on involuntary manslaughter charges in connection to a fatal wreck in Smyth County, Virginia.

We've learned 21-year-old Dakota Andrew Miller faces those charges after a crash that happened on July 9, 2012.

State police tell us the crash happened on Laurel Springs Road near the intersection of Cornett Road in Smyth County. Police say Miller was driving a car and entered a curve too fast. They say he then ran off the road and hit a tree.

All three passengers with him died at the scene: 21-year-old Sarah Beth Clark of Lebanon, Virginia, 23-year-old Richard Schmidt of Marion, Virginia and 20-year-old Chelsea Leah-Jordan Altice of Salem, Virginia.
