A new report reveals details on which patients were most at risk for developing the multi-state fungal meningitis outbreak illness.

The study includes analysis of 817 patients who received potentially contaminated steroid injections at St. Thomas Outpatient Neurosurgery Center in Nashville.

Doctors say those at greatest risk of developing fungal meningitis were women over the age of sixty, and those who had received multiple steroid injections.

424 cases of fungal meningitis have been attributed to the contaminated injections.

31 people have died including 13 in Tennessee and two in Virginia.

Those vials of medicine came from the New England Compounding Center.
