Recent rains have caused ground water to give way near a local school.
A sinkhole has formed inside the track field of Ketron Elementary School about the size of a golf cart.
School officials told us crews can't fix the sinkhole until the soil dries out.
In the meantime officials are keeping a close eye on it.
"We monitored it daily, several times a day on many days, just to be sure there's no hazard [and] no risk for kids or patrons," said Gene Johnson, Sullivan County Department of Education's assistant director of operations.
School officials told us because of East Tennessee's terrain, they've been dealing with sink holes for years on their property, and crews just recently fixed another sink hole Blountville.
