PEANUT BUTTER DONATIONS UPDATE
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. -

Last week we told you about a local library skipping late fees in return for donated jars of peanut butter.

We've learned about 90 jars of peanut butter were donated to the library over the last week.

Each jar goes to help stock the shelves at Feeding America Southwest Virginia.

The library was accepting peanut butter in lieu of late fees and employees tell us they are simply blown away by people's generosity. "One gentleman came in with four big jars and he said 'I just brought a jar in for every dollar that I owe.' So he only owed $4 but he gave us four jars of big peanut butter," said Debbie Legg with Washington County, Virginia Library System.

Every jar donated will help with the food bank's children's programs.
