BOONE'S CREEK DEVELOPMENT
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. -

More stores could soon be coming to Washington County, Tennessee. That's because the Economic Development Council is taking the first steps in the right direction.

About 100-acres will soon be a new home for retailers off Interstate 26 at Exit 17 in Washington County, Tennessee.

Right now work is being done on tax and financing development. Mitch Miller with the Washington County Economic Development Council says they hope this space draws interest in everything from small shops, to restaurants, to hotels.

"Nothing on the plate as of yet that we can announce or say that it is a definite happening. But there's a good way of having retailers to have interest in our region and we want to make sure we've got a site out there for them," he added.

We've learned the council's next step is to meet with city and county commissioners.
