ALCOHOL BUST
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. -

Local police use undercover officers to bust nearly 10 businesses, accused of selling booze to minors.

During a regular sweep of businesses Wednesday, undercover Elizabethton Police say they found 8 out of 31 businesses were selling alcohol to minors.

We've learned those employees were told immediately of the crime and will appear in court. "Now businesses have to appear in front of City Council for a Beer Board Meeting. We have some businesses that are first time offenders, and then you have others that it's been more than one time," said Chief of Police Greg Workman.

Police say six out of the eight businesses actually checked the Drivers License and still sold to them, while two of the businesses did not check I.D.'s at all.
