GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. -

The special prosecutor assigned to the case against a local lawmaker is seeking to change the charge.

Greene County State Representative David Hawk is currently charged with felony reckless endangerment after police said he assaulted his wife last year.

The prosecutor handling the case filed a motion on March 18 to switch the charge to felony aggravated assault.

The motion has not been heard by the court and must be grated by a judge before the charge would change.
