SWAT officers called to domestic situation

BRISTOL, Tenn. -

Bristol, Tennessee police say it took two hours for their negotiators and SWAT team to get a man to surrender.

They tell us they got the call to St. Louis Avenue late Thursday night from the wife of James Lane.

She told police Lane had threatened her with a gun and she was locked in the bathroom.

Police say the woman was able to eventually sneak out after they arrived and her husband surrendered.

Police tell us James Lane was taken to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. They tell us charges are pending.
