State lawmakers sat down with local leaders Monday morning to discuss upcoming legislation this session.
Chamber of commerce members from Kingsport, Johnson City and Bristol were pushing their agenda to Capitol Hill members. Both groups want to see reform come to the workers' compensation system.
Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey says Medicaid funding from the federal government will also be a major issue. "It starts out being funded a hundred percent. I don't think it ends up there," he said. "The federal government does not exactly have a track record of keeping their word when they start a program. [They] get you sucked in and then cut off the funding and that leaves the states to pay the bill."
The group also heard from Catherine Glover, president and CEO of the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce.
