Teens who recently got their driver's licenses in Tennessee could be getting a new one.
A printer error caused incorrect dates to be put on about a thousand licenses.
The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security says the state identity card vendor made the printing error on some cards made in December of 2012 and January of 2013.
The cards were only issued to new drivers younger than 18 who visited the state driver centers in Dickson, Gallatin and Springfield.
The problem affects the security of the cards. The department now asks for those driver licenses to be returned in a self-addressed stamp envelope, which will be provided by the card vendor.
The misprinted cards will be securely destroyed.
