Gov. Bob McDonnell is set to lead a 16-day job creation and economic development marketing mission to California, China and Japan.

The governor's office says that McDonnell, several of his cabinet members and a team of Virginia economic development officials will leave Wednesday.

The delegation will first visit Los Angeles and San Francisco before heading overseas to several cities in China and then to Japan.

While away, McDonnell is set to promote Virginia agriculture, wine, manufacturing, film and tourism. He'll also host several receptions with business and trade officials.

McDonnell has led several similar trade missions since taking office in January 2010 that officials say have resulted in more than half a billion dollars in capital investments, nearly 1,400 jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in new agricultural exports.
