Wine in supermarkets debate continues in Tenn.

Food City CEO Steve Smith was among those who went before lawmakers in Nashville today concerning a bill that would allow grocery and convenience stores to sell wine.
Supporters and opponents of the bill made a final push today as the state legislature prepares for a vote on what would be the biggest rewrite of Tennessee's liquor laws in decades.
Those in favor of the bill say the change would increase competition and they argue it would give consumers more options. Those against the bill say they're concerned there would be a negative impact when it comes to public safety and that regulation will be difficult.
This year’s legislation would require communities to hold referendums on whether to allow wine to be sold in their supermarkets
Committee members say a vote is planned for tomorrow morning.
