SMYTH COUNTY, Va -

Eighteen kittens, who were left to die on Pugh Mountain, have started to find homes thanks to adoptions through the Smyth County Animal Shelter and Appalachian Animal Refuge.

An AAR volunteer told News 5 that yesterday they were able to re-home nine of the kittens. She said two women drove all the way from Knoxville, Tennessee to adopt two kittens.

Appalachian Animal Refuge offers adoptions on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 1-4 p.m.

If you would like to adopt an animal, and cannot make it during these hours, call the Smyth County Animal Shelter or get in touch with AAR on Facebook and arrangements can be made.
