Appalachian Spirit Gallery, 144 W. Main Street in Marion, Virginia kicks off its Second Friday Art Walk on May 10 with a free live musical performance by Gerald Anderson and Friends.
The gallery also hosts an artist reception and opening for Generations, a Mother's Day tribute and fabric art show that includes quilts, wall hangings, and clothing featuring the handiwork of three generations of women Helen Maschke, Karen Maschke Chamberlain, and Sarah Chamberlain Claassen.
Music on the Porch begins at 6 p.m. and listeners are urged to bring chairs or blankets for lawn seating. The concert will be moved inside in the case of inclement weather.
The Second Friday "Alive after Five" Art Walk runs from one end of downtown Marion to the other with art, crafts, music, jewelry, special events, exhibits, and more.
The Art Walk begins at Appalachian Spirit Gallery and meanders throughout shops and eateries all the way to the Herb House Trading Company on Pendleton Street.
