BRISTOL, Va. -

The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales were in downtown Bristol on Friday.

Friday afternoon they wowed the crowd as they made their way down Cumberland Street, Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, State Street and Piedmont Avenue.  A team of eight horses pulling the Budweiser wagon traveled the route twice -- once at 5 p.m. and again at 6 p.m.

Border Bash followed in Cumberland Square park with music, vendors and other activities for children until a thunderstorm rolled in around 9 p.m.

The festivities continued through Saturday with Party in the Park with the Clydesdales.

The day-long, free event was held Saturday, July 20, 2013, from noon to 10 p.m. at Cumberland Square Park in Bristol, Va., and featured live music, craft and food vendors, and a beverage garden.

It's all part of the Walling Distributing Co. 50th Anniversary Celebration.

The full press release about the event is as follows:

"Have your photograph taken with the Clydesdales from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in front of the War Memorial and stay all day for great live music by some of the region's (and Canada's) most sought-after artists!

Band Schedule:

* Noon - Farmhouse Ghost
* 2:00pm - Annabelle's Curse
* 4:00pm - Great Peacock
* 6:00pm - The Billy Crawford Band
* 8:00pm - DUGAS

Weather permitting, the eight-horse hitch will make two processions through Historic Downtown Bristol on Saturday at 5:00pm and 7:00pm.

Folks will also have the opportunity to visit with the Clydesdales through Sunday as they are being stabled at Cumberland Square Park.

Party in the Park with The Clydesdales is proudly brought to you by the City of Bristol, Virginia, Walling Distributing Co., Believe in Bristol, and Birthplace of Country Music."
