Some Buchanan County, Virginia school employees are back to work.
Superintendent Larry Ashby says they over-budgeted for an insurance plan and that extra money allowed them to bring back 30 of those employees let go earlier.
Ashby also told us he asked the Board of Supervisors on Monday to provide the funding to rehire the rest and was denied. "We had less enrolled this year that we budgeted for, so we had a windfall of about $580,000 $586,000 dollars which we were able to take that money and call back 30 people who were laid off", Ashby said.
A total of 50 people lost their jobs due to a lack of funding. Click here to read more.
