Campus Police warn of car burglaries at ETSU

Published On: Sep 16 2013 05:03:31 PM CDT
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -

Campus police at ETSU are warning students and faculty about a string of car break-ins.

In an email sent to faculty and students ETSU warns of three auto breaks-ins since Wednesday.

There has also been a report of a car stolen from campus.

We’re told similar incidents have been reported just off of campus.

"We just wanted to get the message out to the community to make sure that you have your car doors locked and if you have personal items of value, in your car to make sure they're not in open public view," says ETSU Spokesperson Joe Smith.

We’re told the cars targeted have all been unlocked.  Police are reminding people to lock doors and keep anything valuable out of view.
