CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. -

Carter County 911 Dispatch has a new home.

Their new building in Elizabethton will help them serve the community better.

The new building has more room and more dispatch consoles. They also switched phone systems, the new system lets them transfer calls all over the state.

Carter County's 911 Director Dale Blevins says the move was seamless, "To bring our additional equipment from our other building took about 20 or 30 minutes at the most. All the calls for service got answered, and we provided that service that we provide. Everything went well."

Blevins told us the new phone system will eventually allow them to take 911 text messages and pictures from people who need help.

The new building also has room to expand even more.
