GENERIC niswonger children's hospital
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -

It serves more than 2,000 children in four states and 29 counties, and relies on the annual Golf Classic to support it.

The Niswonger Children's Hospital in Johnson City made its official announcement today about the tournament.

The festivities begin June 29. This year's benefit concert will feature The Band Perry at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Greeneville, Tennessee.

The following morning the golf classic begins at the Virginian Golf Club in Bristol, Viriginia.

Once again, there is a star-studded celebrity list that will play in the Golf Classic, headlined by Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.

The purpose of the tournament is to help the community gain knowledge of the hospital and to see the positive opportunities it brings to children in the area.

It's one of six hospitals in the world affiliated with St. Jude's.

Scott Niswonger, the hospital's chief benefactor, tells us they hope to raise over $1 million with the support of the tournament. "To be able to have these friends of mine and Steve Johnson come into town to play in this and wanting to be here says a lot about our region and just how friendly the region is," Niswonger said. "They want to be here."

Ray Allen Junior - Shooting guard for Miami Heat
Bill Bates - Former safety for the Dallas Cowboys
Frank Beamer - Head football coach for Virginia Tech
Stephen "Dell" Curry - Former NBA player
Stephen "Steph" Curry II - NBA player, Golden State Warriors
