COLUMBIA, Tenn. -

Authorities in Columbia are asking for public help in solving a cold case killing.

George Barrett Dugger died Aug. 27, 2008, and an investigation found he had been fatally stabbed. Dugger's body was found in his burning home.

A medical examiner found Dugger, known to his family and friends as "J.J.", had not inhaled soot or smoke, meaning he was dead before the fire was set.

The Daily Herald reported Columbia police are investigating the death as a first-degree murder and aggravated arson.

More than two years later, the body of Dugger's uncle was found shot several times in the front seat of his car. That killing has not been solved, either.
