A vigil was held at Emory & Henry College on the night of February 25, 2014.

Local lawmakers, Senator Bill Carrico and Delegate Israel O'Quinn are released a joint statement on the Glade Spring tragedy Wednesday.

The statement said, "We were extremely saddened to hear of the tragedy that recently unfolded in Glade Spring. The Palmer and Griffin families have experienced an untold amount of grief over the past twenty-four hours. We urge our community to support the families in every way possible."

There are two more vigils taking place Thursday to remember the victims of this tragedy.

Community members have a chance to come together Thursday night at Virginia High School, where Kristin Palmer was a teacher for 20 years. The program is planned for 6:30 in the Virginia High auditorium.

Another one will also take place Thursday at the Patrick Henry High School auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Patrick Henry is where Kristin's son, Griffin Palmer, attended.
