CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. -

The Carter County Sheriff's Office requests information in a meth lab investigation.

The Sheriff's Office tells us deputies responded to a meth dump site Thursday night in the parking lot of the Dollar General store on Highway 321 in Hampton.  We're told, the fire department also responded to extinguish the fire that, deputies believe, was sparked by the meth dump.

Sheriff Chris Mathes says after surveying the scene, they believe the meth lab exploded as someone was trying to make meth, using the "shake and bake" method, while driving in a car.  They believe the people involved may have been burned when getting rid of the debris.

If you have any information about this incident, please contact the Carter County Sheriff's Office at 423-542-2350.
