If you want to help others this holiday season, area blood donation centers are hoping you'll give the gift of life.

Blood donation centers like Marsh Regional are always looking for people to donate. Even in the busy Christmas season, there is still a great need to give blood to others.

Celia Brent, a Kingsport woman with a rare immune disease, is reminding you why donations are so vital to people like her this holiday."If it weren't for the blood donors, I couldn't live my life in a normal way. I couldn't take care of my children, I couldn't go to the grocery store or to the mall and do Christmas shopping," she told us. "It's because of the people who donate that I can go and have lunch with my daughter every friday."

Marsh Regional Blood Center tells us donors have to be at least 17 years old. There are both mobile donation centers and permanent locations in Kingsport and Bristol to donate blood.
