UPDATE: 3 residents displaced in morning apartment fire in Bristol, VA

BRISTOL,Va. -

UPDATE 9:30

News 5 spoke with Bristol, VA Fire Chief J.C. Bolling and he tells us three individuals lived in the apartment building and have lost everything.

The Red Cross is assisting with the residents.

Chief Bolling tells us all three residents were home at the time of the fire, but were able to get out.

We are told it is too early yet to determine what caused the fire, but investigators were on scene this morning.

As of 9:30, Oak, Sycamore, and Solar Streets continue to be closed.

We are told the fire started at 207 Oak Street around 5:30 a.m.

No word yet what caused the fire, or if anyone was home.

We have learned Oak Street, Sycamore Street, and Solar Street have been closed.

Bristol, Virginia firefighters are currently on the scene of an active fire near downtown Bristol.

We're told the fire is burning near the corner of Oak and Sycamore Streets and it started around 5:30 a.m.

We've learned Oak Street and Solar Street have been blocked to traffic.
