Hanukkah
BRISTOL, Tenn. -

Friday marks the third day of Hanukkah the celebration started on Wednesday.

Rabbi Joe Bell told News 5 Hanukkah is also known as the Celebration of Lights. He says during Hanukkah everyday for eight nights at sundown they light a candle. Bell said they sing prayers then light the candles. He also said they eat fried foods like potato pancakes and doughnuts to commemorate the importance of oil during the celebration of Hanukkah.

"The kids will play with the dreidels and then we'll have a meal and we'll open presents. Usually we open the presents first after we light the candles. Either we'll do it before we eat or after we eat there are no rules," added Bell.

Bell said his congregation is having a community Hanukkah celebration next Wednesday at 7:00 at 1128 New Hampshire Avenue in Bristol, Virginia. To visit their website click here.
