KINGSPORT, Tenn. -

Hundreds of people were lining up to get a tour of the Allandale Mansion during FunFest on Sunday.

The mansion was open to the public so people could see each room and learn about the history.

We're told people came from all over -- one family touring the mansion even came all the way from Canada.

The decades-old mansion attracts people every year, but this year event organizers tell us was their busiest yet. "We have been very busy today. I know last year we had a little over 500 visitors and I think this year's going to top last year," hostess Teresa Hubble said.

Here's an interesting fact about the mansion: we're told construction started in the spring of 1948 and it was finished fall of 1950, but we're told the staircase and the portico date back to pre-Civil War times.
