Kingsport Police are hoping to put more internet predators behind bars with the help of a new crime-fighting tool.
The Kingsport Police Department now owns a Cop-In-A-Box. It's all thanks to a donation after the screening of Finding Faith, a movie to raise awareness about internet crimes against children.
This computer system is equipped with highly specific software that can help track online criminals targeting children.
"These people who would offend against our children through the internet often times they are very covert. They hide well. They know the process. they're very elusive," said Captain Jason Bellamy, with the department.
The Safe Surfin Foundation reports one-in-five teens has received an unwanted sexual solicitation online and more than $3 billion are spent on child porn every year.
