Crooked Road Music Festival
ABINGDON, Va. -

Abingdon's Crooked Road Music Festival came to a close Sunday.

The four-day event featured youth performances and, for the first time, a songwriting workshop.

All of the events were at the Heartwood center near Virginia Highlands Community College.

Concerts took place indoors and outside. Many people came from all over to enjoy the event, including Australia, Canada, and Estonia.

The final event of the festival on Sunday was a brunch featuring gospel artists Bill and Maggie Anderson from Carroll County, Virginia. "They're also instrument makers," said Jack Hinshelwood, the Crooked Road executive director. "Bill makes the instruments he plays today and his wife Maggie is playing the dobro that he built, complimenting his guitar that he made."

We're told a couple hundred people came to the festival.
