UPDATE: Escaped inmate caught

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. -

UPDATE: Tuesday, 4:50 a.m.: The search is now over for a Greene County, Tennessee inmate who has been on the run since the weekend.

The Greene County Sheriff's Office confirmed for News 5, Ronnie Lee Shelton was found and arrested early Tuesday morning. The Sheriff's Office said Shelton's vehicle was found sometime Monday.

Officers say Shelton escaped from an outside recreational area of the Greene County workhouse Saturday. Officers say he was serving a 30-day sentence for misdemeanor drug possession and criminal impersonation.

A new arrest warrant was issued Monday for Stacy Ann Lowe, pictured at left. Authorities believe she helped with the escape. 

As of Tuesday morning, she had not been arrested.

ORGINIAL STORY

A search is underway for an escaped inmate in Greene County.

Greene County Sheriff Steve Burns tells us Ronnie Lee Shelton escaped from an outside recreational area of the Greene County Workhouse on Saturday.

Burns tells us Shelton was serving a 30-day sentence for misdemeanor drug possession and criminal impersonation.

We're told Shelton might be driving a red Pontiac Grand-am, a white Mazda 6, or a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Burns says Shelton may have shaved his head and could be traveling with a woman.
