There's more talk about bringing passenger rail service back to Bristol.
The Twin Cities have been trying to lure Amtrak for years. They say it would help businesses downtown.
Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell says there is some money in the transportation budget to investigate extending the rail service from Roanoke to Bristol. He says there's some planning money in the six-year plan.
The governor also pointed out it would be expensive due to a large amount of uneven terrain in the region.
The governor announced Friday that Amtrak would be extended from Lynchburg to Roanoke. Amtrak said six months ago they would extend their rails from Richmond to Norfolk.
