TRAINING TRUCK
SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. -

The Sullivan County fire departments have a new way to get real-life training.

On Monday the departments showed the Sullivan County Commission exactly how their new "fire trailer" will improve their training.

Sullivan West Fire Chief Drew Deakins says the trailer has several rooms and a garage inside it, giving fire fighters different training that's important for real-life experiences. "A lot of times when you're in a smoke-filled environment like a house, it can be confusing. This allows them to kind of come up with some good rules and methods when they're searching for a victim so they're practicing here as opposed to a real thing," adds Deakins.

The trailer only cost the county $6,000 because they had help from several sponsors.

Deakins tells us it will be available to other department around the region for training.
