WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. -

Virginia State Police say fog could be the reason behind a serious crash in Washington County, Virginia Thursday morning.

According to Trooper Chris Wyrick, it happened just after 3:00 Thursday morning on Route 91 between Glade Spring and Damascus.

Wyrick says the driver of a Dodge pick-up told him it was foggy and he didn't see the moped in front of him on the road.

The trooper says the truck hit the moped from behind. Two people were riding it. Those people were flown to Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Wyrick says one rider received life-threatening injuries. He says the other is in serious condition. He says the investigation continues to see if any charges will be filed.
