Riley, Jay
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. -

A computer virus led to a man voluntarily turning his computer into police and an eventual charge of possession of child pornography.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, 21-year-old Jay Matthew Riley of Woodbridge, Virginia brought his computer to the station asking if he had any warrants on file for child pornography. He told police while he was looking at child pornography, an FBI warning message came on his computer, ordering him to pay a fine or be investigated.

That message was later discovered to be a computer virus.

Police searched his computer and found several inappropriate messages and photos. One photo was identified as a 13-year-old girl.

Riley is charged with three counts of possession of child pornography, one count of using a communication device to solicit offenses involving children and one count of indecent liberties with a minor.
