Some things in your mail box Saturday didn't need postage to be delivered -- letter carriers across the region took part in this year's Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
Bags of non-perishable food items like rice, soup, peanut butter, and canned vegetables could be found inside mail boxes.
Letter carriers were collecting donated food to go to our local food banks.
We caught up with Ginger Morrell, a postal worker in Blountville, who says she's overwhelmed by the generosity of homeowners this year. "Last year I did a different route and I didn't pick up 10 or 15 bags. This year I know I have over 250 that I've already collected," she told us.
Officials with Second Harvest Food Bank tell us last year more than 130,000 pounds of food were collected during this food drive.
