SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. -

After slashing about $15,000 in funding to Bristol Parks and Recreation department last year, Sullivan County may be reconsidering that cost-saving move.

Sullivan County Mayor Steve Godsey told us he was concerned to hear about the coming annual $120 fee for all non-Bristol, Tennessee Slater Center members.

Godsey said he's asked the Bristol, Tennessee mayor to re-think the fee if Sullivan County reinstates their contribution to Bristol Parks and Recreation.

“We have over a thousand residents that are utilizing the Slater Center up there, so when you look at it, it just makes sense," Mayor Godsey said.

Godsey said the move is still in the discussion phase and would have to be approved by both municipalities.
