Three students now face charges in a bomb threat at Daniel Boone High School.
We checked with Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal, who tells us deputies arrested two freshman and a sophomore Wednesday. All three are charged with filing a false report.
School leaders sent students home early on Monday after finding a note in the bathroom.
"There may be more arrests. The investigation is not really completed," said Greg Matherly with the sheriff's office.
The sheriff says one student had a map of the school with suspicious markings and an escape route. Authorities did not find a bomb.
The juvenile suspects have a detention hearing scheduled for Thursday morning in Jonesborough.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office released the following information about the arrests on Wednesday afternoon:
"Three Daniel Boone High School students have been arrested and charged with Filing a False Report after a bomb threat forced the evacuation and early dismissal of the school on Monday, November 18, 2013.
According to Sheriff Ed Graybeal, three juveniles, two freshmen and a sophomore, have been charged with Filing a False Report after a message was discovered written in a bathroom at Daniel Boone High School regarding a possible bomb in the building. One of the Juveniles involved had in his possession a map of the school with suspicious markings and an escape route. The school was evacuated and searched utilizing numerous members of the Sheriff’s Office School Resource Unit, Patrol Division, and Criminal Investigation Division. A K-9 Unit specially trained in locating explosives was brought in from the Bristol TN Police Department to assist. Emergency medical services and fire units were also on scene as a precaution.
The juveniles are currently being housed in the Washington County/Johnson City Regional Juvenile Detention Center and will appear in Washington County Juvenile Court in Jonesborough on November 21, 2013 at 9 a.m. for a detention hearing."
