Three students at Daniel Boone High School were charged after police say fireworks were detonated in the parking lot.
A school resource officer told Washington County deputies that she heard what sounded like gun shots outside the school around 7:30 a.m.
Further investigation revealed that three students had set off explosive fireworks in the parking lot.
The three students, two juveniles and 18-year-old Thomas Parrish, were charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a weapon on school property.
The juveniles were taken to Washington County Juvenile Services and later released to their parents. Parrish was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and is being held under a $1,000 bond.
Parrish will be arraigned on May 1, 2014.
