Virginia to improve security after employee security breach

Personal information for thousands of Virginia state employees was mistakenly sent out to human resources workers and now, officials are working to improve security in the Commonwealth.
The Virginia Department of Human Resource Management says the personal information of 13,000 flexible spending account participants was mistakenly sent to 11 human resources and payroll workers through Anthem subcontracting company Conexis. That information included employees' Social Security numbers.
Officials say human resources and payroll employees are authorized to receive some employee data, but they received the entire participant list.
Anthem and Conexis will provide free credit monitoring and identity theft services.
