'Zero emissions day' campaign in Kingsport
The City of Kingsport is encouraging people to work together on Earth Day for their Zero Emissions Day campaign.
Kingsport Director of Planning and Community Development Lynn Tully tells us they are asking people to ride a bike or walk somewhere instead of driving. She tells us Tuesday a group of city employees walked to lunch instead of driving.
Tully says if you are doing something to cut down on emissions, you can e-mail them for a chance to win a Go-Pro camera.
She tells us this is important for the city. "It encourages an active lifestyle and active living, as well as economic benefits. It's always cheaper for spending less gas," she said.
Tully says there is a chance this weekend to help keep Kingsport clean at the Green Belt clean-up that will be Saturday from 9-11.
Tully says people can meet at the East Stone Commons. They will be giving away free radon test kits.
The email address to win the Go-Pro is firstname.lastname@example.org.
